Around 100 kg Mango to export to Hong Kong from Satkhira
Experimentally 100 kg Gobindobhog mango is going to the Hong Kong market. Gobindobhog mango from Satkhira is being exported to Hong Kong for the first time after Denmark and Germany.
According to Satkhira District Agriculture Extension Department, 600 metric tons of mango will be exported from all over the country. Satkhira mango will be 100 metric tons.
Mango export activities will be officially inaugurated on May 19. Experimentally 100 kg Gobindobhog mango is going to the Hong Kong market.
Satkhira Agriculture Extension Department Deputy Director Nurul Islam said the target is to export 100 metric tonnes of mangoes from Satkhira this year. These include Gobindobhog, Himsagar, Langra and Amrapali mango.
Nurul Islam said, "We have trained and prepared 500 farmers for mango export abroad. Mango will be exported from these orchards."
On Saturday, May 14, Gobindobhog mango export activities officially started from the Kukrali area of Satkhira Sadar.
For the last decade, Satkhira's Himsagar has been exported to various European countries. Gobindobhog Mango was exported to Denmark and Germany last year.
