142 arrested in anti-drug operation in the capital
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Crime and Intelligence Division has arrested 142 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs in raids in different areas of the capital.
They were arrested and drugs were recovered from different police stations in the capital from 6 am on Thursday, November 4 to 6 am on Friday, November 5.
DMP Deputy Commissioner of Media and Public Relations (DC) Farooq Hossain gave this information on Friday morning.
He said 592 grams 520 puria heroin, 19 thousand 24 pieces Yaba, 22 kg 835 grams 45 puria cannabis, and 38 injections were seized from the arrested.
The police official also said that 107 cases have been registered against the arrested persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
