2 killed after falling into the septic tank

2 brothers have died after falling into a septic tank at a market under construction in Hajiganj Upazila of Chandpur.

The accident took place at Hajiganj Bazar around 10 am on Tuesday. The deceased were identified as Golam Rabbani, 38, and his younger brother Mohan Ali, 28. Their home is in Sukhandighi village of Nachol Upazila of Chapainawabganj.

Abdul Barek, the owner of the building under construction, said Golam Rabbani worked as a contractor for the building. And Mohan Ali worked as a construction worker. This morning they went to work on the septic tank and got into an accident.

Officer-in-charge of Hajiganj Fire Service Rashedul Alam told that his younger brother Mohan Ali could not get up after getting inside the septic tank due to oxygen crisis. Later, his elder brother Golam Rabbani also got into the tank to save him. He also fell into an oxygen crisis there. After rescuing the two, they were taken to Hajiganj Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared them dead.

Hajiganj police officer in charge (OC) said. Zobair Syed said the inquest was reported after the bodies of the two brothers were recovered. An unnatural death case will be filed in this regard.
