2 killed after getting hit by brick-loaded trolley

2 passengers of a van, including a woman, were killed when a brick-loaded trolley hit them in front of the Shrimp Research Center on the slope of Daratana Bridge on Pirojpur Highway in Bagerhat.

The incident took place in front of the center at 9:30 am on Wednesday, May 25.

The deceased were identified as Reshmi Begum, 50, wife of Babul Fakir of Sundarghona village under Bagerhat Sadar Upazila and Salam Khan, 42, son of Sultan Khan of Sholarkola village under Kachua Upazila. The name of the injured van driver was found.

Locals said a brick-loaded trolley coming from Bagerhat town hit a passenger van coming from the opposite direction on Wednesday morning. A woman named Reshmi Begum was killed on the spot. After rescuing the 2 injured, the on-duty doctor declared one dead. However, the van driver has been sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital for better treatment.

Bagerhat Fire Service and Assistant Director of Civil Defense. Golam Sarwar said 2 van passengers were killed when a brick-laden trolley hit them on Wednesday morning. The bodies have been recovered after the incident.
