2 killed in Bus Crash at Chattogram

2 people were killed in a bus crash at Muniya Pukur Par area of ​​Dhalai Union in Chattogram's Hathazari Upazila. The accident took place on Chattagram-Khagrachari road around 6:30 am on Saturday, April 30.

The matter was confirmed by Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nazirhat Highway Police Station Omar Farooq.

The deceased have been identified as Nikash, a passenger in a battery-powered autorickshaw, and Abdul Quader, a rickshaw puller.

Police officer Omar Farooq said they were going to Sarkarhat in a rickshaw with fish from Nazirhat around 8:30 am. A speeding bus crushed the rickshaw and fled when it reached Muniya Pukur area of ​​Dhalai Union on the Chattogram-Khagrachari road. 2 people were killed on the spot. After receiving information from the locals, the fire service and police went to the spot and recovered the body. Both are poor people. One used to run the household by selling fish, the other used to run the household by driving a rickshaw.

He said the bus was going from Chattogram to Khagrachari. The bus could not be identified, identification work is underway. The bus driver will be brought under the law.
