55 arrested while DMP recovered illegal drugs

Dhaka Metropolitan Police DMP has arrested 55 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs while conducting anti-drug operations in different areas of the capital.

During the arrest (55), 21,238 pieces of yaba tablets, 223 grams of heroin, 5 kg 100 grams of cannabis and 24 bottles of phensedyl were recovered from their custody.

As part of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police's regular anti-drug drive, they raided various police stations in the capital from 6 am on Monday, May 30, 2022, to 6 am today and recovered drugs.

A total of 42 cases have been registered against the arrested persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
