Popular Tollywood actor Abhishek Chatterjee has died. He breathed his last on Thursday, March 24 at 1:10 am daily at his home on Prince Anwar Shah Road in Kolkata. He was 57 years old.

Another Tollywood actor Bharat Kaul has been quoted in the 'Anandabazar Patrika" as confirming his death.

He said that Abhishek Chatterjee took part in a reality show on Wednesday evening. There he suddenly fell ill. It was later learned that the actor had suffered a heart attack. After that, he was at home feeling a little better. However, in the middle of the night, the sad news came.

Meanwhile, the news of the actor's death has cast a shadow of mourning in the Tollywood industry.

Abhishek was one of the busiest actors in the Bengali film world in the nineties.

Abhishek Chatterjee has been seen on screen with talented actors and actresses like Utpal Dutt and Sandhya Roy. He has also worked with contemporary first-grade actors and actresses like Shatabdi Roy and Rituparna Sengupta.

Abhishek Chatterjee was born on April 30, 1964. He started his career in cinema in 1986 with the film 'Pathbhola' by Tarun Majumdar. Notable films he has acted in are 'Dahan', 'Bariwali', 'Madhur Milon', 'Mayer Anchal', 'Alo', 'Nilachale Kiriti'. Not only on the big screen but also on the small screen, he has won the admiration of the audience by acting equally fluently.

However, he was absent from Tollywood for a long time. The actor also regretted talking about it. He complained that he had been deprived of Tollywood.

In an interview, Abhishek said that he had to be dropped from one movie after another due to politics. At that time I had to run my family through Jatra Pala and theatre.

However, for the last few years, Abhishek's vocal presence has been seen on the television screen. He has won the hearts of the viewers by acting in serials like 'Ichchenadi', 'Pita', 'Apur Sansar', 'Andarmahal', 'Kusum Dola', 'Fagun Boo', 'Kharakuto'.
