Detective Branch (DB) police have arrested 15 leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and district Chhatra Shibir in Sirajganj. Earlier, they were arrested from the Sayadhangara Madhyapara area of ​​the city on Sunday night.

Police claimed that the leaders and activists of Jamaat-Shibir were holding a secret meeting for the purpose of sabotage. At that time 10 cocktails were seized.

The arrested persons are the district Jamaat Amir Md. Shahinur Alam (50), District Student Shibir President Tariqul Islam (24), Secretary-General Alhaj Uddin (24), Office Secretary Azizul Haque (22), Former President Imran Hossain (25), Shibir leader Rezayanullah Sohaib (19), Monirul Islam (25) Alamin Hossain (22), Shariful Islam (24), Ayub Ali (22), Abu Bakar Khan (23), Abdus Salam (22), Monirul Islam Sarkar (20), Zakaria (23) and Rabiul Islam (21).

Sirajganj Detective Branch (DB) Sub-Inspector of Police (SI) Khokon Saha confirmed the arrest, saying, "Jamaat-Shibir leaders and activists from different Upazilas of the district were holding secret meetings at Darul Islami Academy for sabotage." After receiving the news, 15 people were arrested in the night raid. At the time, 10 cocktails and five motorcycles were seized from the spot.

A case has been filed against the detainees under the Sabotage and Explosives Act. Police said they would be sent to court.
