Amir Hossain Amu, one of the members of the Awami League's advisory council, spokesperson of the 14-party and former industries minister, has called for a 'strict lockdown'.

Amir Hossain Amu made the call in his speech as the chief guest by virtually participating in the free fertilizer and seed distribution program among small and marginal farmers with the aim of increasing aman paddy production in Jhalokati.

The Sadar Upazila Agriculture Department organized a virtual event at the Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium at 11:30 am on Wednesday.

Amir Hossain Amu said, "If we had followed the instructions given by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Corona could not have attacked so much." Everyone has to abide by the lockdown that is being given to deal with the Corona situation. Administration officials have been instructed to implement the lockdown. No one will be out of the house unless absolutely necessary from tomorrow Thursday.

Amu added that the country is now self-sufficient in food due to the hard work of farmers. The farmers of our country are hardworking. The Awami League government has always been there to support the farmers. And the farmers are producing the crop by working hard with efficiency.

The veteran leader of the Awami League further said that whenever the Awami League comes to power, it provides fertilizers and seeds to the farmers for free and at a fair price. The Awami League government is a farmer-friendly government. During her tenure, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has helped the people of the country in various ways with money and food.
