47 arrested in anti-drug operation in Dhaka

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 47 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs in anti-drug operations in different parts of the capital.
As part of the DMP's regular anti-drug drive, they raided various police stations in the capital from 6 am on Friday, January 28 to 6 am on Saturday, January 29, and seized drugs.
DMP Deputy Commissioner of Media and Public Relations (DC) Farooq Hossain gave this information.
He said 515 pieces of Yaba, 48 grams of 295 Puria heroin, 16 kg 500 grams of 30 pieces of puria cannabis, 136 bottles of Phensedyl, and 1,344 cans of beer were seized from the arrested persons.
The police official also said that 36 cases have been registered against the arrested persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
