43 arrested in anti-drug operation in the capital

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 43 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs in anti-drug operations in different areas of the capital. They were arrested in a raid from 6 am on Monday to 6 am on Tuesday.

This information has been given in a press release sent from the public relations branch of DMP on Tuesday.

As part of the DMP's regular anti-drug drive, 43 people were arrested in the raid from 6 am on Monday to 6 am on Tuesday, the statement said.

The statement further said that 113 grams of heroin, 26 kg 950 grams of cannabis, 10,608 yaba, 12 cans of beer and 15 injections were recovered from the arrested persons.

The notification also said that 34 cases have been registered against the arrested persons under the Narcotics Control Act at the concerned police station.
