From Dhaka Bank's Bangshal branch vault nearly Tk. 4 crore disappear, 2 arrested with cash in-charge.

About Tk 4 crore has gone missing from the Dhaka Bank branch in the capital's Bangshal. Two bank officials have been sent to court on suspicion of involvement in the incident.

The duty officer of Bangshal police station confirmed the matter on Friday (June 18) morning. He said Tk 3 crore 77 lakh has disappeared from the vault of Bangshal branch. Bangshal police have arrested the bank officials under section 54 in this incident.

The detainees are Rifatul Haque, senior officer of the bank and Imran Ahmed, cash in-charge.

However, the company's public relations officer Mizanur Rahman claimed that the matter was inconsistent. It is learned that the bank authorities came to know about the disappearance of money on Thursday night. It is learned that the two were handed over to the police custody later that night.
