Anti-drug raid in the capital, arrested 50

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Crime and Intelligence Division has arrested 50 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs in raids in different areas of the capital.

As part of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police's regular anti-drug drive, they were arrested and drugs were recovered from different parts of the capital from 6 am on Sunday, September 19 to 6 am on Monday, September 20.

On Monday, September 20 in the morning, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Media and Public Relations Department of the DMP Farooq Hossain gave this information.

He said 883 pieces of yaba, 143 grams of 40 puria heroin, 5 liters of domestic liquor, 60 bottles of phensedyl, and 3 kg 960 grams of 95 puria cannabis were seized from the 50 arrested persons.

The police official also said that 39 cases have been registered against the arrested persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
