63 Arrested in Anti-Drug Operations

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 63 people in an anti-drug operation in the capital. The arrestees are accused of selling and consuming drugs.

The DMP's media and public relations department said in a statement on Sunday, April 10th that they had been arrested in raids in different police stations in the capital from 8 am on Saturday to 6 am on Sunday.

According to the DMP, 9421 pieces of yaba, 23 grams of heroin, 19 kg 985 grams of cannabis, 450 bottles of phencidyl and 80 grams of meth were seized from the arrested persons.

A total of 49 cases have been registered against the arrested persons under the Narcotics Control Act. From Friday to Saturday, 63 people were arrested for the same crime. The police filed 49 cases against the accused.
