Australia Head Coach
Australia Cricket Team has been looking for a coach since last February. There has been no head coach since Justin Langer resigned. The country's legendary cricketer Ricky Ponting has been running for a new coach ever since.

Matthew Mott, a successful women's coach, and Trevor Bayliss, a former England coach, were also present. Even Andrew McDonald, who was with the team as an assistant coach, was in the running for the head coach.

However, the Australian cricket authorities did not select a coach with star fame. They have chosen Andrew McDonald, who has been the assistant coach for two and a half years. The former all-rounder is Australia's new coach.

The contract with McDonald's is for four years. The 40-year-old will be the Aussie coach in all three formats. Cricket Australia has placed its trust in him after he became the acting coach in the last two months. Even the cricketers of the team liked him a lot.

McDonald has played four Tests for Australia. In first-class cricket, he took 201 wickets with about 5,000 runs. That he started his coaching career in 2014. He coached the Renegades in Victoria and Melbourne in 2016. Under his coaching, Victoria won two titles in the Sheffield Shield in three seasons. The Renegades are also champions in the Big Bash.

In October 2019, McDonald became the assistant coach of the Aussie national team. This time the main coach went to the forest. His new role will begin with a tour of Sri Lanka in June.
