Obaidul Quader, general secretary of the party and minister of road transport and bridges, said the Awami League would have to be saved if democracy in Bangladesh was to be saved. Awami League is the organization of the soil and people of this country.

Obaidul Quader said this while addressing the tri-annual conference of Naogaon district AL as the chief guest from his residence on Thursday morning.

Addressing the party leaders at the time, Obaidul Quader said, 'There can be no pocket committee in any way. The committee has to work with dedicated workers in difficult times. '

Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader called on the party leaders and workers at all levels to start preparations for the forthcoming national elections from now on.

At the time, Obaidul Quader further said, "If the BNP comes to power again, the country's development achievements will be destroyed." He said, "There is no democracy in their party. They are divided today."
