Stamp inauguration of Bangabandhu jointly

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have jointly inaugurated a commemorative postage stamp on Bangabandhu issued by the Postal Department of India. The postage stamp was unveiled at a virtual meeting of the two leaders on Thursday, December 17. At the same time, they inaugurated the Bangabandhu-Mahatma Gandhi Digital Exhibition. A short promo on the two leaders was also shown.

The meeting between the two Prime Ministers started at 11 am. Sheikh Hasina from Ganabhaban and Narendra Modi from Delhi took part in it. At today's meeting, the Prime Ministers of the two countries also launched the Chilahati-Haldibari rail link. After 55 years, the railway line was re-launched by two Prime Ministers. The railway line has been closed since the 1965 Indo-Pakistan war.

Earlier in the morning, seven memorandums of understanding were signed between the two countries ahead of the virtual meeting.

The MoUs between the two countries include CEO Forum with the Ministry of Commerce, Cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Cooperation with the Ministry of Energy on Hydrocarbons, Cooperation with the Ministry of Environment, Cooperation between Bangabandhu Memorial Museum and National Museum of India, Department of Economic Relations, (ERD) Cooperation Agreement on Community Development and Sewage Treatment Plant in Barisal.
