'Partnership between Bangladesh-India is wide and lively'

Describing India-Bangladesh relations as broad and vibrant, Indian President Ram Nath Kovind said, "We are emphasizing on connectivity."

The President of India said that Bangladesh is India's development partner. India-Bangladesh partnership is wide and lively.

He said this while Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid a courtesy call on him at his suite in Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel.

After the meeting, Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Ihsanul Karim briefed the journalists.

Indian President Ram Nath Kovind further said that he was very happy to be a part of the celebration of three mega-events.

He said, "At a time when Bangladesh is celebrating the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh's independence and the golden jubilee of diplomatic relations between the two countries, he is very happy to be present at these events."

Indian President Ram Nath Kovind arrived in Dhaka today on a three-day visit to attend the special celebrations of Mujib's centenary in Bangladesh and the 50th Victory Day of Bangladesh's independence.
