After two long years, bus service has resumed between Bangladesh and India. Due to the pandemic coronavirus, bus services between the two countries have been suspended for so long.

The bus service was re-inaugurated on Friday, June 10 at 7:30 am in the capital's Motijheel. Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) said in a press release.

In normal times, buses used to ply on five inter-border routes between Bangladesh and India.

These are: Dhaka-Kolkata-Dhaka, Dhaka-Sylhet-Shillong-Guwahati-Dhaka, Agartala-Dhaka-Kolkata-Agartala and Dhaka-Khulna-Kolkata-Dhaka.

Out of the five routes, except the Dhaka-Sylhet-Shillong-Guwahati-Dhaka route, bus service is being started on the remaining four routes from today, BRTC said.
