Customer presence is low in bank

A "comprehensive lockdown" has been launched across the country since Wednesday to prevent coronavirus infections. Under this lockdown, the bank was supposed to be closed at first, but later Bangladesh Bank decided to keep the bank open. The bank is open today, Customer presence is low. Banking activities have started from 10 am. It will continue till one o'clock in the afternoon. Besides, the bank will be open till 2.30 pm.

The bank's opening circular on Tuesday said that a branch of each bank in the upazila town would be open on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. And a branch within two kilometers of the city corporation area should be kept open every working day. In addition, the main branch and the dealer branch approved in foreign currency should be kept open. In other words, banking activities will run from 15 to 21 April except weekly holidays.

This morning, the pressure of the customers could not be noticed in different banks of the capital. Speaking to a few bank officials, it is learned that the pressure of the general customer is less but the presence of other customers is there. Import and export work is going on.

Some bank officials in Motijheel and Gulshan-Banani said that no one was coming to the bank for any purpose other than emergency transactions. Most of those who have come are for business and to withdraw money.
