Bank recruitment exam question leaked: 3 more arrested

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Detective Branch (DB) has arrested three more people for allegedly leaking question papers for the recruitment of officers (cash) of five state-owned banks.

The three arrested are Parvez Mia, Lab Assistant of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, Delwar Hossain, Office Assistant (Peon), and Rabiul Awal, Cutting Master of Ahsania Printing Press.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Detective Tejgaon Division (DB) Deputy Commissioner Wahidul Islam confirmed the information.

He said they were arrested in raids in different parts of Dhaka and Rajshahi on Wednesday night. When the three arrested persons agreed to testify, they were sent to the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court. The court accepted their statement and directed them to send Dhaka Central Jail.

According to DB police, Peon Delwar requested Rabiul, the cutting master of the press, to take out the question papers before the examination.

He later handed over the question papers to Lab Assistant Pervez Miah. Moktaruzzaman, a technician at Ahsanullah University, was also with him at the time. He has already been arrested.

Eleven people were arrested in connection with the leak of question papers.

Of these, 5 are officials of various state-owned banks. In this case, 5 persons have given confessional testimony in court and 2 candidates have testified in court as witnesses.
