'People no longer want BNP'

Staff Correspondent
AL General Secretary and Road Transport Minister Obaidul Quader have claimed that BNP is conspiring to question the upcoming national elections.

He said the people are happy with the development and achievements of the Sheikh Hasina government so they will choose AL in the next national elections as well. So the BNP is already conspiring and lying to question the election process.

Obaidul Quader said this while briefing his office at the Secretariat on Sunday, April 10.

Obaidul Quader claims that the people no longer want the BNP for its negative and destructive politics, realizing that they have taken a stand against the people. He said, "It seems that the situation of BNP is like a lost path, they don't even know what they are saying."

Obaidul Quader said that BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir had taken such a stand against the people.

Obaidul Quader has said such a statement of Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is ridiculous as the AL wants to cross the hurdle of the next national election again by playing the election game. He said the people of the country know that AL does politics for the people. AL does politics for the betterment of the people. Not to make their own pockets heavier.

Stating that Bangladesh is known as a dignified country in the world today due to the able leadership of Sheikh Hasina, Quader said, "We have 100% confidence in the people, so there is no need to play with elections." According to the constitution, the next election will be held in time and it will be under a neutral election commission.

Obaidul Quader claims that the BNP understands the election game well and thinks the same way about others. He said that the election game was played by BNP on February 15, 1996. Played in Magura and Dhaka-10. Although the BNP has forgotten, the people of the country have not forgotten it yet.

Earlier, World Bank Country Director for Bangladesh Mercy Mian Tembon paid a courtesy call on Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader. There, he lauded the positive progress and unprecedented development of the country's economy under the leadership of the PM of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina. Quader said the World Bank is proud of Bangladesh.

Obaidul Quader emphasized on speedy implementation of the road safety project undertaken with the financial assistance of the World Bank.
