'BNP is joking in the name of creating greater unity'
Awami League General Secretary and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader has said that the BNP is trying to hide its failure by creating a joke in the name of creating 'greater unity'.
He made the remarks at a briefing at Setu Bhaban in the capital on Thursday, June 2 morning.
The Minister for Road Transport and Bridges said the BNP could not find any issue to reach out to the people. They are now negotiating in their own circle to pass the time. People have seen dialogue between BNP leaders before.
Obaidul Quader said, BNP has been blindly criticizing the government day and night and has been relentlessly lying and slandering. Now they say, my language is not the language of politics.
Obaidul Quader asked Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir to be restrained. "We always speak the political language," he said. No offensive remarks are made in our language. Awami League leaders and workers did not get such education. On the other hand, BNP and their teams speak the street language.
Noting that the BNP leaders did not utter the name of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the daughter of Bangabandhu, with respect, the General Secretary said that they chanted the slogan, "Let the roar of '75's tool roar once more". Prime Minister threatens to assassinate Sheikh Hasina - Will it ever be accepted? What could be more dirty language?
Addressing the Bangladesh National Party leaders, Obaidul Quader said, "Speak in restrained language first, then tell us." People think that language, cunning will be more dear to those whose politics is fire, terrorism, corruption and looting. That's normal.
