BNP leader Salauddin is in jail in a sabotage case

The court has ordered to send BNP leader and former MP Salauddin Ahmed to jail in a sabotage case.

Dhaka Metropolitan Seventh Joint Metropolitan Sessions Judge Aftabuzzaman issued the order on Wednesday. Salauddin Ahmed surrendered in this court today and applied for bail. After the hearing, the judge denied his bail and ordered him to be sent to jail.

According to the documents, a case was filed against Salauddin Ahmed on January 30, 2015 at Wari Police Station in the capital.

According to the statement, on January 30, 2015, at 2 pm, unidentified assailants set fire to a bus (Dhaka Metro J 11-2249) in front of Gulistan Toll Plaza on Mayor Hanif Flyover and set it on fire.

Wari police sub-inspector Shah Alam filed a chargesheet against 34 people, including Salauddin, in the CMM court on August 12, 2015. Salauddin Ahmed has been a fugitive ever since. The court then issued an arrest warrant against him.
