Body of school teacher, domestic help found dead

After three murders in Gowainghat upazila of Sylhet, this time twin murders have taken place in Osmaninagar upazila. Police have recovered the decapitated body of a schoolteacher and her housemaid from a house in Soairgaon area of ​​Dayamir Union of the upazila after 12pm on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Tapti Rani Dey, 60, a teacher at Swairgaon Primary School and Gouranga Vaidya, a housemaid.

According to the police, both the husband and son of Tapti Rani are doctors. She lived in Swairgaon area with her husband and son. The husband and son left for practice in the chamber on Saturday afternoon. When she returned home at night, her husband Bijan Bhushan Dey called but no response was received from inside. No one even opened the door. Later the police was informed.

At around 12pm, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Osmaninagar Police Station Nazmul Huda broke the bathroom window of his house and entered the house. Police believe the killings took place after dusk.

Osmaninagar Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shyamal Banik said no information was available on who committed the murder. Police have recovered the body. Police have started work to investigate the incident.

Earlier on Wednesday morning, the bodies of a woman and her two children were recovered from their house at Binnakandi village in Fatehpur union of Gowainghat upazila. The injured woman's husband Hifzur Rahman was rescued at the time. Later on Saturday, Hifzur was shown arrested in the murder case. Police claim that Hifzur hacked his wife Alema Begum and his two children Mizanur Rahman and Anisha to death.
