Police have recovered the body of an autorickshaw driver in Narayanganj's Rupganj Upazila. The body was recovered from Road No. 7 in Purbachal town of the Upazila on Friday noon.

The deceased was identified as Hridoy, 20, a resident of the Bholab area of the Upazila.

Rupganj Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Raju Ahmed told: Later we came to the spot and recovered the body and brought it to the police station.

Citing locals, the SI said, 'The name of the deceased is Hridoy and he is an autorickshaw driver. No further details were found. There are marks of injuries on the body including cut marks on the neck and chin of the deceased. A sharp knife was recovered from the scene.

Initially, the idea is that Hridoy came here with the passengers in the autorickshaw. The robbers later killed Hridoy with a sharp knife and fled in an autorickshaw. However, it can be said at the end of the investigation whether there is any other reason.'

Raju Ahmed further said, "Relatives of the deceased are being searched. The body will be sent to the Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy after the relatives actually identify themselves.
