Two motorcyclists killed in Bogra truck crash

Two motorcyclists were killed when a truck hit them at the Dupchanchia police station bus stand in Bogra.

The accident took place around 7 am on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Sakhawat Hossain Palash, 48, of Khandar area in Bogra Sadar and his friend Shoaib Mahmud, 42, of Alokdia village in Sirajganj Sadar upazila.

Dupchanchia police sub-inspector Niyaman Nasir said, 'The two killed were on their way from Bogra to Naogaon's Porsha upazila this morning. When they reached the Dupchanchia Thana bus stand on the Bogra-Naogaon road, an unidentified truck hit their motorcycle from the front and they fell. The truck then passed them. Palash was killed on the spot. Shoaib died at the hospital.

Attempts are being made to identify the deadly truck, the police official said, the bodies of the deceased have been handed over to their families after a preliminary investigation.
