A roadside bomb blast near the northern city of Mosul has killed at least five Iraqi Kurdish members.

Moreover, four people were wounded in the incident. IS has carried out attacks. The group is known in Iraq as Daesh.

This information was given in a report of Arab News on Sunday, November 28.

The group has frequently targeted Iraqi security forces, including the Kurdish Peshmerga. The number of such attacks has increased since Daesh was defeated on the battlefield in 2017.

In the midst of the conflict between the regional governments of Iraq's central and semi-autonomous Kurdistan, Daesh is active in many parts of the country, especially in the north, through the Daesh Slipper Cell.

Daesh often targets the country's security forces, power stations, and other infrastructure. On Sunday, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani offered his condolences to the families of the victims.

Barzani said in a statement that the increase in Daesh attacks carried a "dangerous and serious message." Which is also a threat to the region. That is why the global coalition needs more cooperation between the Peshmerga forces and the Iraqi security forces.

The US-led coalition has already announced the end of its mission in Iraq, announcing that Daesh has been defeated. He said troops would be withdrawn from Iraq by the end of December this year. But advisers have said they will continue to train Iraqi forces.
