Health Minister Zahid Maleque has said that the booster dose of coronavirus on the trial basis will start from Sunday.

He was responding to a question from journalists at a function organized on the occasion of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's birth centenary, great victory day, and the golden jubilee of independence at Shuvro Center in Garpara area of ​​Manikganj Sadar Upazila on Friday evening.

The health minister said in the first phase- doctors, nurses, government officials, media workers, and the elderly would be brought under the booster dose. About 70 million people in the country have been vaccinated with the first dose of coronavirus and about 45 million people have been vaccinated with the second dose. 12 crore people will be brought under vaccination. However, 30 percent of people have already been vaccinated in two doses.

He further said that all the activities of giving booster doses are underway. Security app updates are in progress. Booster dosing lists are being prepared. There is no shortage of vaccines in the country. There is now seven lakh Pfizer vaccines in the country. Another 20 million vaccines will arrive next month.
