Three vehicles collided in Chakaria, killed 3

Chakaria police OC Osman Gani said the incident took place on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway in Medha-Kachhpia Dhala area of ​​Khutakhali union of the Upazila around 12:15 am on Monday.

The dead included a bus driver and a passenger, and another a mini truck driver. However, the OC could not reveal their names.

Referring to the locals, Osman Gani said that a group of people had come to Cox's Bazar from Chattogram for a picnic by renting the bus of NR Shyamoli Paribahan. They had an accident on their way back from Cox's Bazar after the picnic.

"There was a three-way collision between the bus, a salt-laden van, and a mini truck coming from the opposite direction. The cars are twisted. Three people, including two drivers, were killed and six others were injured in the incident.

After receiving the news, the injured were rescued with the help of fire service personnel and locals and taken to Chakaria Upazila Health Complex. The doctors on duty there sent the three to Chattogram Medical College Hospital and Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital.

The bodies of the deceased were recovered and sent to the morgue of Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital, the OC said.
