Fire at the plastic godown in Chawkbazar

A fire broke out in a plastic godown at SK Tower in the capital's Chawkbazar. Nine units of the fire service are working to bring the fire under control.
Lima Khanam, a duty officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defense Headquarters, confirmed the fire.
He said the fire broke out on the third floor of the six-story building of SK Tower at 4.30 pm. Upon receiving the news, 9 units have been sent to the spot. They are now working to control the fire.
Initially, the cause of the fire, damage, and casualties were not known.
Earlier, on February 20, 2019, a terrible fire broke out in the Chawkbazar area of Old Dhaka, killing 70 people.
The fire engulfed several buildings, housing shops, chemical and plastic warehouses at Nanda Kumar Lane, Churihatta junction in Chawkbazar.
In addition to the 70 people killed, many more were burned and seriously injured in the blaze.
