7 parachutists killed in Siberia plane crash

A twin-engine L-410 has crashed in Russia's Siberian region of Kemerovo. At least seven people were killed and more than a dozen were injured.

Reuters quoted Russian media as saying in a report on Saturday, June 19.

At least 17 people are feared injured in the crash near the Tana airport, emergency services said, citing sources.

Tas added that the plane crashed inside a forest. Before the crash, the crew of the plane sent a signal that the engine was broken.

The Russian civil aviation agency's Siberian branch, Rosaviatsa, told Reuters a search and rescue operation was under way. However, they did not provide any detailed information in this regard.
