'No one will get exemption in Cumilla incident'

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that the incident in Cumilla is under investigation. No one will get an exemption. Some vicious circles want to create chaos in the country. Appropriate action will be taken against whoever is guilty or whatever religion they belong to.

The Prime Minister said this while exchanging greetings with devotees at the central puja mandapa of Dhakeswari National Temple on the occasion of Durga Puja. The Prime Minister attended the function via video conference from her official residence Ganabhaban.

Sheikh Hasina said those who could not gain the trust and confidence of the people were the ones who caused such incidents. They will not be given any exemption. Several people have already been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the incident.

President of Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad Milon Kanti Dutta, Principal of Ramkrishna Math and Mission Dhaka Swami Purnatmananda Maharaj, General Secretary of Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad Nirmal Kumar Chatterjee, and President of Mahanagar Sarbajanin Puja Committee Shailendranath Majumder were present on the occasion.
