As the climate is conducive to mosquitoes, there is a risk of a further increase in dengue in Dhaka city.

The World Bank said in a report published on its website on Thursday.

Humidity ranges from 60 to 80 percent, temperatures range from 25 to 35 degrees Celsius, and 200 to 800 millimeters of rain is ideal for mosquitoes, the report said.

Weather data from 1976 to 2019 indicate that the humidity level in Dhaka is decreasing, the temperature is rising and there is heavy rainfall in summer. These are increasing the risk of dengue spreading in Dhaka city along with issues like urbanization.
