The administration has announced to close the residential hostel of Dhaka College till May 5 due to clashes between students and traders in the New Market area of ​​the capital. Students have been instructed to leave the hostel by 5 pm.

Dhaka College principal ATM Moinul Islam confirmed the information on Tuesday.

"It has been decided to close the hostel due to the current situation," he said.

Dhaka College has 6 residential hostels for students.

Some students have taken position in front of the principal's office to protest the closure of the hostel. In this case, they have demanded the resignation of the Vice-Chancellor.

Clashes between students and businessmen have been going on since this morning. Earlier, the clashes started last night.
