A severe traffic jam has been created on the 13 km road from Elenga on Tangail Highway to Bangabandhu Bridge East. In addition, a long line of transport has been created on the bridge.

At dawn on Saturday, April 30, vehicles were plying along the 13-kilometer stretch of the Dhaka Bangabandhu Bridge East Highway.

Apart from this, traffic jams have been created somewhere. The drivers and passengers of the vehicles plying on the highway are suffering from this.

Meanwhile, a record of the highest toll collection has been created on Bangabandhu Bridge centered.

According to the bridge authorities, in the last 24 hours (Friday, April 29 from 6 am to Saturday, April 30, at 6 am) 42,199 vehicles crossed the Bangabandhu Bridge East and West. The toll has been 3 crores 18 lakh 8 thousand taka.

Out of this, the toll has been collected against 25,061 transports from North Bengal and South Bengal at Bridge East Toll Plaza and Tk.

Meanwhile, to avoid traffic congestion on the two-lane highway east of Bangabandhu Bridge from Elenga on the highway, the Dhaka-bound transport is being diverted from Bangabandhu Bridge East Round Square to Bhunapur Tarakandi Road. This has reduced the traffic congestion on the highways but has also increased the traffic congestion on the Bhunapur-Bangabandhu Bridge-Bhunapur-Elenga regional road.

Ataur Rahman, in-charge of the Elenga Highway police outpost on the highway, said the Eid-centric highway was under heavy traffic. The transport is moving slowly.
