42 suspected militants detained in Dinajpur

In Dinajpur, 42 people have been arrested on suspicion of being members of the banned militant group Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT).
Abdul Mannan, deputy commissioner (special action) of the police's Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit (CTTC), told.
He said the CTTC unit of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted raids in different areas of Biral, Bochaganj, and Dinajpur Sadar Upazilas and arrested them.
The police official further said that with the help of local police personnel, members of the CTTC conducted raids and arrested them on charges of being involved in suspected militant activities.
Abdul Mannan said legal action would be taken against them after the investigation and verification of information.
A senior Dinajpur police official, who did not want to be named, said the raids were carried out between 12 am and 2 am yesterday.
Among the detainees, 17 have been arrested from Biral Upazila. Others were detained from Sadar and Bochaganj Upazilas.
