Drug dealer arrested with 50 kg of cannabis in Gulshan

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested two drug dealers along with 50 kg of cannabis in a raid in the Gulshan police station area of ​​the capital. Arrested are Sujan and Sriram Chandra Das.

On Sunday (May 15) at 9:15 pm in the Shahjadpur area of ​​Gulshan Police Station, the Cantonment Zonal Team of the Detective Branch Gulshan Division arrested them.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police SM Rezaul Haque, who led the operation, said a team of detectives took up position in front of Shahjadpur on the basis of information that "some drug traffickers were coming from Brahmanbaria to Dhaka's Rampura with cannabis in pickups".

Sujan and Sriram Chandra were arrested while fleeing after seeing the police microbus. Later, 50 kg of cannabis was recovered from the vehicle.

Rezaul Haque said the detainees had confessed during preliminary interrogation that they used to collect cannabis from the border area of ​​Brahmanbaria and sell it in Gulshan and surrounding areas of Dhaka. A case has been filed against them at Gulshan police station.
