Staff Correspondent
From now on, the customer will pay for all the E-commerce after receiving the product in online shopping. No payment until they are delivered to customers. The decision was announced by the Commerce Ministry after a meeting on Thursday, June 24.

Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce (Director General, WTO cell) Hafizur Rahman said, "We had a meeting today on e-commerce. The president, general secretary and representatives of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information were also present at the meeting. The meeting decided that no payment would be made before the customer got the product. The customer will pay only after receiving the product. This rule applies to all e-commerce in the country.

"We will send the recommendation to Bangladesh Bank next Sunday," he added. Bangladesh Bank will implement it.

Additional Secretary Hafizur Rahman said, "If they receive a message that the product is delivered after payment, then they will confirm the payment. This is a fair decision. Standard operating procedure (SOP) will be developed soon. The immediate issue is that the payment system will be controlled through Bangladesh Bank.

Asked if there was any decision from them to keep the e-commerce company credible, he said, "No such decision has been made, no discussion has taken place."

Asked whether an at-risk e-commerce company like MLM could run away, Hafizur Rahman said, "It has not been discussed, it will be seen. But there are risks. "
