A magnitude 6 earthquake was felt in several districts of the country, including the capital. The quake was felt at 8:21 a.m. Bangladesh time on Wednesday, April 28.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) said the quake's epicenter was 20 km from Assam. Which affected Bangladesh, India, Bhutan, Myanmar and China. There it was 6 on the Richter scale.

The quake, which lasted more than ten seconds, shook homes. In the meantime, everyone is sharing information about this through various social media including Facebook-Twitter. The quake affected several places in Assam and Guwahati. Pictures of people coming out in panic have been published in various news outlets.

Bangladesh Meteorological Department meteorologist said. Abul Kalam Mallick said a magnitude 6.0 earthquake was felt in the north and northeast of the country, including Dhaka. The epicenter of the earthquake was in Assam. Which is 397 km away from Dhaka Meteorological Department Agargaon. Initially it was thought that a strong earthquake had been felt.
