Nepal was shaken by the earthquake. The magnitude of the earthquake was 5.8 on the Richter scale. A magnitude 5.8 earthquake shook the region on Wednesday morning, according to the country's National Earthquake Observatory.

Earlier, the European Mediterranean Earthquake Center (EMSC) said a magnitude 5.3 earthquake shook Nepal on Wednesday morning.

The quake struck around 5:30 a.m. local time on Wednesday. The epicenter was reported 113 kilometers northwest of the capital Kathmandu.

National Earthquake Observatory and Research Center geologist said. The quake hit Lamjong district at 5:42 a.m. local time on Wednesday, according to Lok Vijay Adhikari. The magnitude of the earthquake was 5.8.

However, no information has been received yet about the damage or casualties from the quake. The strong tremors during the earthquake spread panic among the local people.
