Awami League General Secretary and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader has said that the election will be held on time as per the constitution of the country.

He further said that according to the law, the entire responsibility of conducting the election is vested in the Election Commission. However, we expect that all political parties believing in the spirit of democracy will take part in the elections.

Obaidul Quader said this in a statement given on Friday. BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir's statement was baseless and fabricated, he condemned and protested.

Obaidul Quader said Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina is committed to upholding the democratic spirit in any way and is ready to respond to any conspiracy. The Awami League believes that the people are the source of all power. And Bangladesh Awami League is an invincible force of emotion and undivided feeling in the heart of the people of this country, which is historically proven.

He said the Awami League government does not need to swear at anyone to stay in power. But the power-hungry BNP has always been established through assassination-conspiracy and has done nothing for the welfare of the people since its inception. Due to this anti-politics of BNP, the democratic culture of Bangladesh has been repeatedly hampered.

Obaidul Quader said that democracy is the result of joint efforts of all. But the BNP, founded by destroying democracy, started anti-independence and anti-liberation politics in the independent Bangladesh achieved through the great liberation war.

Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina has repeatedly been the victim of conspiracies due to her uncompromising attitude towards the welfare of the people of the country or protection of the interests of the country. On the other hand, the countrymen have witnessed the foreign dependence in the politics of BNP. Their leader is living a comfortable life by smuggling money from the country and fleeing abroad, said Quader.
