Case filed against Chairman-MD of Evaly for embezzlement

Shamima Nasrin, chairman of e-commerce company Evaly, and Mohammad Russell, managing director (MD), have been sued. A victim named Arif Baker has lodged the case in Gulshan Police Station. He had lodged a written complaint with the police station around 12:30 last night.

The victim, Arif Baker, said that from May 29 to June, he ordered goods worth Tk. 310,000 on Evaly's online platform. Which the company fails to deliver on time. As a result, he filed a case alleging embezzlement.

According to the lawsuit, Baker and his friends ordered some products in May and June of this year, attracted by Evaly's dazzling advertisement. The company had promised to refund the same amount if the products failed to be delivered and delivered within 7 to 45 working days. But as they were not delivered within that time. And then they called to the customer care of Evaly many times. They last tried to get the products by contacting them on September 5 but failed.

At one point Evaly fails to pay for the product and the money. Later on September 9, the victims went to the company's Dhanmondi office and wanted to talk to the company's Managing Director Mohammad Russell. The people of Evaly got excited and shouted. At one point, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Russell came out and showed fear to them. As well as refuse to pay for goods or money.

Evaly later intimidated and threatened the victims. As a result, they are living in panic. At the same time, they have suffered financially and mentally.
