Ferry capsized at Paturia with vehicles

A ferry with vehicles capsized at Paturia ferry terminal. The ferry was partially submerged and the vehicles on the ferry fell into the river.
BIWTC chairman Tajul Islam confirmed that the accident took place on Wednesday morning.
"When the accident happened around 9:30 am, there were 17 trucks on the ferry," BIWTC Deputy General Manager Zilla Rahman told.
So far no casualties have been reported, he said.
The BIWTC chairman said, "The ferry probably sank when it hit the pontoon while anchoring at the wharf."
