Ferry service resumed
After being closed for five hours due to fog, ferry service has resumed on Shimulia-Banglabazar and Shimulia-Mangalmajhi waterways.

According to Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) and traffic police sources, the Padma fell in the thick fog around 5 am on Thursday.

As a result, in the interest of the safety of passengers and vehicles, the authorities stopped all types of ferry services on Shimulia-Banglabazar and Shimulia-Mangalmajhi waterways.

BIWTC Shimulia Ghat Assistant Manager (Commerce) Faisal Ahmed said the ferry service has started at 10 am today. The ferry service was suspended at around 5 am due to heavy fog.

At present, a total of five ferries including three medium and two small ones are plying on these two waterways. Meanwhile, more than 150 small vehicles are waiting to cross the ghat area.
