Fire at plastic factory in Shampur

A fire broke out at a factory called Delwar Plastic and Sweet Foot War in the capital's Shampur area. The fire started at 2:03 am on Monday, February 14.

Upon receiving the news, eight units of the fire service reached the spot and brought the fire under control at 3:40 am.

Shahjahan Sikder, officer-in-charge (media) of the Fire Service and Civil Defense Department, said the fire broke out at the plastic factory near Millat Metal on Postagola High School Road in Shampur at 2.30 am.

Upon receiving the news, the fire service reached the spot and started extinguishing the fire. Then eight units were sent one by one. The last fire was brought under control at 3:40 am.

Regarding the cause of the fire, he said that initially, the fire service of the fire service said that the fire started due to an electrical short circuit.

No casualties have been reported so far in the incident. The fire caused a loss of about 15 lakh taka.
