Workers of a garment factory called Cotton Textile at Mirpur-11 in the capital are protesting by blocking the road. As a result, traffic has been disrupted since morning.

At around 9 am on Saturday, April 23, cotton textile workers blocked the road in front of the post office adjacent to the Eastern Cinema Hall at Mirpur-11.

Pallabi police inspector Afzal Hossain confirmed the matter.

"Since morning, cotton textile garment workers have blocked the road demanding arrears of salary and bonus. Due to their blockade, the traffic in front of the post office has to be diverted. This has been disrupting traffic since morning", he said.

"I have talked to the owners and workers of Cotton Textile. We are trying to resolve the issue quickly through discussions with the two sides," he added.
