4 including a child burnt in Gulshan fire

Four people, including a child, were burnt in a fire that broke out on the second floor of a six-story building in the capital's Gulshan. They have been admitted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

Earlier on Wednesday afternoon, the relatives brought the burnt people to the Burn Institute. The injured are DM Rafiqul Islam Rajib (35), his wife Maliha Anha Urmi (32), and son Masroor Moha. Rafin (2) and housemaid Moni (35).

Rajib's uncle Imdadul Haque told that Rajib's house was on Gulshan-2, Road number 130. They lived on the second floor. Rajib is the branch manager of a corporate branch of a private bank. Rajib was in another room at home at the time of the incident and was getting ready for the office. Then this fire happened.

He added that they were first taken to Gulshan United Hospital. There he was taken to the Burn Institute with first aid.

Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute Resident Surgeon Ayub Hossain said, 4 people including children have been brought to the institute in the Gulshan incident. Rajib has been lightly burnt and 70 percent of Maliha Anha Urmi, son Masroor Rafin 30 percent, and 30 percent of housemaid Monir were burnt.

The condition of 3 people is critical.
