Gunmen attack in Nigeria
At least eight people have been killed and four others injured in separate attacks by gunmen in Nigeria's northwestern state of Kaduna. A government official said this on Tuesday. The state's internal security commissioner, Samuel Aruwan, said in a statement that security agencies had reported gun attacks in the local Kachia areas.

Aruwan said five people were killed when armed robbers blocked a Kaduna-Kachia road in Kadani village in Kazuru and attacked a bus as well as a truck carrying firewood. Three more people were injured in the attack.

In another incident, he said, gunmen attacked a truck on the same road. The truck driver was killed. In recent months, there has been a spate of gun attacks in northern Nigeria.
