In Chattogram's Banshkhali upazila, a woman doctor named Fatema Begum (46) was hacked to death by a young man named Eheshan (28). Fatema Begum's daughter Brishti (9) and neighbors Rabia Begum (40) and Jannatul Ferdous (22) were injured in the incident.

At present they are all undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College (CMC) Hospital. After the incident, the police conducted a raid and arrested the accused youth Eheshan.

The incident took place at around 8am on Monday, July 12 at the victim's house in Dash Para area of ​​Shilkup Union in the upazila.

Fatema Begum is said to be the wife of Mostaq Ahmed Sikder, a resident of the area. Officer-in-charge (OC) of Banshkhali Police Station Safiul Kabir confirmed the matter.

He said, ‘The woman was hacked to death in Shilkup Union in the morning. Three others, including two women and a child, were injured in the incident. The accused youth Eheshan has been arrested in a raid after the incident.

The OC further said, "During the initial interrogation by the police, the arrested Eheshan said that he had taken an amulet from the woman a few days ago. It is believed that a female is being killed due to a dispute over amulets. The incident is being investigated and a case is being filed.
